This camp is located in Wŏnsan (Korean: 원산시), North Korea. The correct name
of the location is Songdowŏn and it was set up "almost 30 years ago to help
young foreigners (especially from Communist countries) get acquainted with the
isolated country, attracting over 300 attendees from Russia, China, Vietnam,
Ireland and Tanzania, the AP reports"
(source:

The official name is "Songdo Children's Recreation Center" (Korean: 송도원아동휴양소),
songdowon-adonghyuyangso.
It is located in that area because it is a
major tourist attraction with beaches, hotels and health service installations,
as well as education facilities.
